Our Beliefs

Clarity in the Word

We believe that every word of the Bible comes from God. We take serious every letter, every line, and every promise of God. Because we believe the Bible is God’s Word, we have clarity in what God says and certainty in what we believe.

certainty of faith

God does not speak in ambiguous, but in certain terms. Throughout the Bible, he makes promises so that his people might have, as the writer to the Hebrews calls it, “the full assurance of faith” (Hebrews 10:22). Rather than mere sentiment, faith is that which clings to the solid promises of God.

comfort

The result of clearly understanding God’s promises in all their certainty is this: comfort that our sins have been paid for, comfort that God will redeem us from this broken world, and comfort that we pass on to others.

Our Core Values

Gospel Centered

At St. Matthew’s we believe that the gospel is a saving message.  It changes people from lost sinners to saved saints.  We have the utmost respect for the gospel and will do everything we can to know it intimately and spread it faithfully.

Diverse

At St. Matthew’s we are made up of people from multiple ethnic backgrounds.  God has blessed our congregation by allowing us to preach the gospel to all nations by bringing all nation in our doors.

Working Towards Excellence

At St. Matthew’s we pride ourselves in doing all we do the best of our God-given ability.  We continue to work towards excellence in all areas of ministry.

A Family

At St. Matthew’s God has blessed us by pulling us together into a tight-knit faith-family.  We care for each other and love each other deeply.  We know that God’s work takes each of us cooperating as different members of Christ’s body.  We use our St. Matthew’s family to daily build each other up in the Word.
